- galatea is inspired by the greek myth pygmalion. her origin story is very much the same, she was carved from ivory by pygmalion who fell in love with his creation. except when she was brought to life galatea eventually rejects pygmalion which leads to her being cursed by aphrodite with immortality and doomed to never find true love.
- in modern times galatea has a phd in archeology (dr galatea jones), specializing in ancient greece. she feels most at home around art even if it breaks her heart. she teaches and often goes on digs.
- she has worked in museums, been a teacher, a wife, a widow, a curator for royal families.
- while her heart isn't exactly made of stone because galatea cares and she loves, she has never found someone to give her heart too. and she blames many of her woes on aphrodite (even if in her world the gods have gone quiet).
- she is over 3000 years old, and claims she has lost count over how old she actually is.
- she can't have children.
- depending on the situation she may also be an underground art dealer. she is also exceptional at finding ancient supernatural artifacts working with vampires, witches, etc;
- she is immune to compulsion, mind control, etc;
